80/20 Rule

I am reading 80/20 Sales and Marketing by Perry Marshall. This book has me thinking about how Pareto’s Principle applies to EVERYTHING in my life and business. If you don’t already know Pareto’s Principle, here it is: 80% of the effects come from 20% of the causes. This principle can be applied […]

This morning in yoga class, we had a few challenges. They are remodeling different parts of the fitness club and there are sounds associated with construction. At the end of class, when we normally have a quiet time and our meditation, a very loud piece of equipment started up, so our instructor said he was done and we all laughed.

It’s all about focus

There’s always some noise going on, and our ability to let it be there, and still be focused, is what I want to talk about today.

In business there’s always going to be distractions

It might be the phone ringing. It might be something didn’t arrive on time. It could be a new client. It could be your equipment failure. You name it. There are going to be a lot of different things competing for your time, your attention and focus. Your ability to stay centered and to concentrate and focused on what is important will make a big difference in your business.

If your focus is in growing your business, what activities are you doing on a regular basis to show up, to increase your visibility, and to connect with people? If you say that’s your focus, but you never attend any networking events, you never are posting on line, you’re not engaging in conversations whether in person, on the phone, or in print, how do you expect people to know who you are and want to be in a conversation with you?

If your focus is on how to improve how your business is running, what steps are you taking to make sure that you have the right tools, the right people, the right support?

Just for today

See what you’re focusing on, where you are spending your time, and do you have what you need in order to have the focus and the results that you want.

I’m Judy Baker. My business is brandvines, helping you launch your business, launch your brand.

Thank you.

The 10 Minute Rule

“Well begun is half done.” Aristotle  “The beginning is half the whole.” Pythagoras or, as Stephen Covey stated: “Begin with the end in mind.” Intellectually I know any project can be accomplished in small bits. My emotional reality complains and says that the opposite is true. What Would Be Possible […]
